Artist's Statement:
This painting was started on August 30, 2004 and completed on the evening of October 30, 2004.  The background was inspired by the aurora borealis.  There is something about the aurora borealis that's like God saying, "I haven't forgotten about you.  On this night, I will light the sky.  I will light the sky in a manner that is unlike that of which any man can do."
 
And the determined spirit of Miss Jessica Lynch inspired the overall ardent spirit of the artwork.
