The Artist states, “I felt that this composition of Brett Favre, Samkon Gado, and Coach McCarthy captured the mood as the Green Bay Packers embark on the upcoming season.  It reflects the past, present and future.  It features the wise and seasoned Hall of Fame bound veteran.  The running back that proved himself under extreme and extraordinary circumstances last season.  And the new coach, for whom, Packer fans embrace high hopes and expectations.”

Randy continues, “This work represents more than an outward impression of the 2006 Green Bay Packers.  It, also, serves as a metaphor for situations that all of us find ourselves in throughout our lives.  How we have things that are proven and successful, however we are unsure if they will continue to work well as so many conditions and factors change (Brett).  How we have adapted to changed things and these changed things have worked well in the recent past, but will they continue to work well in the future (Samkon Gado).  And how they are all affected by a major change (New Head Coach McCarthy).  And after a bad season like 2005, it’s how we recover.  How we feel when the changes of time deliver us a harsh blow.  The players in the back signify where we look to and how we look at the future.”

Mr. Terry adds, “This artwork is, also, about Brett Favre’s leadership and desire.  It’s about that drive inside of you that won’t let you quit.  When the odds are against you.  When you are feeling weary and beat-up.  What used to seem undemanding is now much more difficult to achieve.  And there are so many changes going on around you. So many things you depended on to get you through are gone.  Yet, you still dig in.  You give it the fight of your life.  You know that you can still do it.  You know that you have to do it.  This is a character trait that so many of us esteem to possess.”

The Artist concludes, “Being a fan and season ticket holder of the Packers, I am very aware of how the fans feel.  However, by attending practice sessions, I am able to sense how the team and coaches feel.  And it is that feeling that I sought to capture in this work.  To observe and sense the players as they look to a proven and respected leader, while listening and learning the plays and strategies of the new leadership regime.  And to express the experience of how all of these elements must work together to achieve their goals.  This artwork is of the Green Bay Packers, but it reflects what goes through all of our minds as our lives evolve.  ’Exceptional Endeavor’ refers to Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers and it, also, refers to you and me and the change and struggle of our lives.”
